Bishop Class

Beginner heirloom sewists will love this two-part class. Debbie walks students through the construction of a sweet little smocked dress. Once made, students will be able to smock the finished dress according to the smocking plate provided.

Pattern and instruction are provided to create an 18mo size bishop dress with angel sleeves, tuck hem and back button closure.

You will need:

  • sewing machine and accessories
  • 1/4" foot
  • size 80/12 needle for sewing machine
  • hand sewing needle
  • basic notions (pins, water soluble marking pen, scissors, ripper, etc)
  • 1.5 yd quilting cotton or lawn (other fabrics may work, but these are easiest for learning)
  • cotton sewing thread
  • DMC floss to match fabric for back smocking (will not show on finished project)
  • (5) 3/8" buttons

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Some exposure to smocking is helpful. Beginner friendly.
