Bag Class: Magnolia Bucket Bag
Are you ready to treat yourself to a classic bag that has all the right stuff? Cork, hardware, awesome features... this drool-worthy project is sure to be as fun as it is beautiful. See what you'll need below, all supplies are available through A&A Sewing :)
For this class, you will need:
- Magnolia Bucket Bag pattern by Sallie Tomato (available in store)
- supplies and interfacings as listed on the back of the pattern, see below
- hardware set *see Clair, available colors: antique, nickel, gunmetal, gold, rose gold.
- sewing machine with power cord/foot control
- accessories: all purpose foot, walking foot, teflon foot, zipper foot
- sewing notions, like pins, clips, scissors, snips, sz 14 needles, all purpose thread, bobbins, chalk pen or marking tool, etc.
- point turner *optional
- Fabri-Tac glue, if using cork
NOTE: If you're making this bag from vinyl or a faux-leather material, please bring Loc-Tite Glue for Fabric and Vinyl!
My suggestions for materials:
- the main and contrast fabrics need to be fabrics that will not fray, such as cork
- I used a canvas print for my bag (along with cork!) and made a few modifications to accommodate it. It did require extra cork because the canvas does fray, even when interfaced to behave like cork.
