Garment Adventure Camp: Streetwear

Students bring:
- serger (4-thread or more) & all accessories
- fabric shears, pins, marking pen, basic sewing notions
- thread to coordinate with fabric
- new sz. 12-14 needles for your machine
No pajama pants here-- we're making REAL garments in this course! To simplify our day, I will offer to prep your pattern for you! Just visit me ahead of time so we can get that set up! clairchampagne@gmail.com
1. Grab your pattern!
Choose from the McCall's or New Look patterns for knits!
2. Make sure your machine is in good working order!
Just because the lights come on doesn't mean it works-- just give it a test run before attending class. Sew a bit, rethread a few times, etc to be sure you'll end the class with a garment.
3. Choose fabric and PREWASH and DRY!
To make sure your garment fits, we want to eliminate any shrinkage before we cut into your fabric. For your first one, I recommend stable knits with 4-way stretch.
Students-- you will get a heads-up consult phone call so that I can offer help choosing fabrics. Please don't wait until the last minute to sign up, you'll have to prewash and dry your fabrics to make a well-done garment!
