DIY Wardrobe: Remy Top

Students, this class is offered in two parts to accommodate you. Due to schedule limitations, this course is not refundable. Check the dates before you sign up.

SESSION 1 Prep video emailed to students.
You'll need:

• pattern Remy Raglan by Sew House Seven sz. 00-34
• fabric yardage as stated in pattern --> please PREWASH AND DRY/PRESS before class!
• 2-3yd Pattern Ease or tracing paper
• writing utensil (pen, pencil)
• fabric scissors
• straight pins
• soft tape measure

In this virtual session we will learn how to read the size chart, measure ourselves for patterns, trace and cut from tracing paper and then from fabric. I suggest that you make your first top from something easy to work with, like woven cotton or lawn. For adventurous beginners looking for a delicate drape, try rayon or satin. Note that no sewing machine is required this round.

Check that you've completed these steps before our sew day:

[  ] wash and dry fabrics, then press *I suggest bringing to class on a hanger!*

SESSION 2 Sew Day!
Please bring:

• sewing machine in good working condition, with accessories like presser feet, power cord, foot control, etc.
• new needle sz. 14
• coordinating all-purpose thread & an extra bobbin
• pattern & fabrics (cut out during video session)
• fabric scissors
• common notions like seam ripper, pins, chalk, etc.
• 1 decorative button for front closure *remind me to bring my crazy old button stash!*

In this session we will cut & assemble our Remy Raglan tops. With fun options for length and sleeves, it will be fun to see the variety! Our classroom has a few ironing stations, but if you don't want to share, feel free to bring your own.

We will break for lunch, we have a fridge and microwave, coffee machine, etc. but feel free to grab Subway or Taco Bell nearby. :)
