Program: Orphan Block Totes and more!
Clair will be visiting the Krotz Springs Quilt Guild at 1:00 pm October 10, 2024 to share ideas and show samples. This week, the program is all about how to use orphaned quilt blocks to make pretty tote bags, zipper pouches and more.
Save the date:
Thursday October 10, 2024 at 1:00 pm in Krotz Springs!
Don't let those unused blocks sit in a pile for another decade..! Give them a new life as a useful tote bag, snazzy zipper pouch, or glamorous project bag.
What is an orphaned block?
Any blocks you have left out of a quilt for any reason becomes an orphan! It's not your fault-- some blocks are testing grounds for ideas that may not have worked. Maybe it came out too small, or you made too many.
May of us have piles of those, right?
Let me show you what to do and turn your trash into treasure!
Before you come to the meeting, do a little homework:
- figure out how many orphaned blocks you have
Bonus points if you bring a few to show! - measure a few of them
This way you'll have an idea of which project may work for you! - look in your stash to see if you have extra batting, zippers, interfacing, etc
- totes with privacy pockets inside (nice for money, ID, etc. at a quilt show!)
- zipper pouches for notions
- project bags with clear vinyl for visibility
See you there!
