This class is all about machine French sewing, smocking, and hand embroidery. Different techniques will be taught on Sea Island Diamonds fabric, like attaching panels of fine laces and Swiss embroidered insertions. Learn how to attach entredeaux to bodice shoulders and neck, then make a lace band which will be attached to sleeves. The dress features an elegant smocking design adorned with delicate roses and the skirt is finished with a wonderful lace hem.
The kit includes the materials for this Lace bodice yoke dress in size 1. Sea Island Diamonds fabric, Fine Laces, antique buttons, and ribbon. Pleating is also included.
Supply List:
- Sewing machine in good working order and must have a zig zag stitch.
- Bring all feet for machine, cord, and foot petal.
- Aurifil 50 wt. white thread & Aurifil 80 wt. white thread
- Microtex 70/10 sharp needle
- Seam gage and basic sewing supplies
- Applique scissors
- Glass Head Pins
- Roxane Glue
- Lace Board or Quilting Board
- Ruler 2” X 12” OR 18” OPTIONAL
- Pattern: Lee by Children's Corner size 1
- Clover blue water soluble fabric marker
