ByAnnie Bag Series: Beginner
Give yourself a great foundation for bag making with these ideal starter bags! I chose these bags because students will learn techniques that designer Annie Unrein uses again and again in her bag patterns, all while creating a set of pretty organizers that you'll love to use. I truly believe that once you complete this series, any ByAnnie bag is within your grasp..!
These classes will teach you essential techniques that will make your bag sewing journey fun and rewarding:
- quilting with Soft & Stable
- sewing with clear vinyl
- installing a bag zipper
- creating bias binding
- flawless topstitching
- assembling thick layers
- labeling and organizing cuts of fabric
For this series, you will need the following ByAnnie patterns:
- Project Bags 2.0
- Stash & Dash
- Ditty Bag
In addition to the bag supplies, don't forget to bring...
- sewing machine and accessories (walking foot, 1/4" foot, all purpose foot, etc)
- pins / wonder clips
- marking pen / chalk
- stiletto
- all purpose thread and bobbins
- new sz 14 machine needle
- 1/8" basting tape *optional, for zipper installation
- scissors, rotary cutter, rulers, etc.
Note: Because these bags are beginner friendly, we will be doing all of the prep work required in the classroom. As you advance in bag making, you'll notice that some classes ask that some or all of the prep work should be done ahead of time. Don't worry! As we get closer to the class dates, I will provide you with optional "homework" that may smooth out your classroom experience. For now, all you need to do is shop ahead of time. :)
