Binding: Zero to Hero!
Ready, set, bind!
Make the last step of quiltmaking your favorite with this intensive workshop. Okay, maybe not your total favorite, but binding really can be fun! ;] Add a little flair with these simple techniques!
You will learn
- traditional binding two ways - by hand and machine
- flange binding two ways - faux flange and true flange
- trim binding featuring ruffled or lace
Your KIT INCLUDES:
- practice quilt sandwich
- all binding strips required
- Clair's binding handout
The first part of this class is a FULL DEMO to show the general guidelines for successful binding. I'll show you how to square up your quilt, cut perfect binding strips, fold & turn 90 degree corners, and join binding at the end.
We will then move to the hands on portion of the class, where we will bind up our "quilt corners" in five ways!
Make sure to bring
- sewing machine with walking foot, all purpose foot, and any accessories
- thread (all purpose or cotton 50wt)
- new sz 90/14 needle
- scissors, pins, wonder clips, common notions
